I am mainly a mountain biker and wanted a good bike to commute on in Pittsburgh. At first I loves this bike, but now am lusting for some gears. Bottom line, if you are sure you will never want gears, get this; otherwise get a cross-check if you may ever want some.

I bought a steamroller last summer as an intro to riding fixed and love it. Not as light as some but rides great and is pretty much bomb proof (apart from bending the forks crashing into a taxi). Found I had to put a smaller chain ring on for street riding and changed the drops which weren’t a great shape. Aside from those small points its a great bike.
